G.I. Joe - Season 1
The animation series offers a wide range of powerful and dangerous events aimed at eliminating the terrorist cobra. The series begins with a new scheme for the Cobra gang, which is trying to steal a spy satellite. It seems that the plan will fail because Brecker stops them by forcing the satellite to collapse in the African jungle. There are more efforts to restore the satellite by Cobra, but things look very difficult especially in those exotic areas.

G.I. Joe stands out without having to go too shiny or too flashy to get kids to watch. It just is, and that's enough.

All disquieting factors momentarily set aside, G.I. Joe featured impressive animation for the time, dedicated voice actors delivering solid performances and fairly sophisticated scripts for a cartoon.

The show isn't very complex, but the nonstop explosions are exciting -- which means it will still have plenty of appeal for young viewers who've been raised with quick-cut action movies.

Somewhere in my sharp recall of 'Yo Joe!' battle cries and racial/gender stereotypes, I missed the substance of a fantastic cartoon with a rich plot-line, solid artwork, and fairly robust character personalities.

This is some of the goofiest stuff I've ever seen, even grading on the nostalgia scale. It's inoffensive enough, to be sure, but hardly anything worth revering.
